At the risk of sounding like a curmudgeon two posts in a row, can I just take this opportunity to say that I really hate Twitter? As far as I can tell, it's nothing more than an exercise in vacuous narcissism for the sender and mundane voyeurism for the receiver. Take the pointlessness of 99% of Facebook updates (mine included, I admit), and then strip away everything else that makes Facebook tolerable - the photos, the shared videos, the quizzes, and so on - and you've got Twitter, the "social networking" site for people who are neither social nor interested in being part of a true network.
